🌊 Best Boards for Saltwater Use
🏆 Recommended: Ketch Karbonate
If you fish saltwater, the Ketch Karbonate is our top recommendation.
-
Made from ultra-rugged polycarbonate
-
No metal = no corrosion worries
-
Fully resistant to UV damage and salt exposure
It’s lightweight, tough, and built to take abuse from sun, salt, and surf.
✅ Acceptable: Ketch X
The Ketch X board is also a strong saltwater option. It’s aluminum, but not powder-coated, which makes it more resistant to corrosion.
However, long-term UV exposure in salt-heavy environments can eventually fade or dull the anodized finish.
If you’re hard on gear or fish coastal waters year-round, Karbonate is the best bet.
If you want a metal board and rinse it often, X will still serve you well.
⚠️ Not Recommended: Original Powder-Coated Ketch
We don’t recommend our powder-coated Original Ketch Board for saltwater use.
The finish can break down over time in harsh coastal environments, leading to corrosion and cosmetic damage.
