Summer Kayak Bass Fishing can be feast or famine.

Temperatures here in Arkansas are getting well into the 90’s, and though we haven’t cracked the triple digits yet it’s only a matter of time.

Fishing is tough right now, and while many anglers move offshore in the summer you can still find quality fish shallow.

I catch fish on a variety of baits on this trip including a Zoom Super Fluke, Zoom Hollow Body Frog, and a Skirmish Baits M9-OK Squarebill crankbait.

A cool rain just before this trip helped to bring down the surface temperatures some from the week before and with rain threatening the area conditions were right for some shallow summer kayak bass fishing.

The only thing on my wish list would have been a little more wind throughout the day, near the end we finally got some, but for the most part, it was a very calm day and made for some tough fishing conditions.
